Ola Ka'i this Saturday - Support our Voyagers!

Hawaiian Language Celebration Event, Ola Ka ʻĪ, is taking place this Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Kukui Grove Center Stage from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00pm.  There will be entertainment, games, music, booths and shopping for the entire ʻohana!
 
Island School will have an informational boothand ALL Island School students are welcome to join for our 10 minute performance at 11:50am to 12:00pm. Practices for this performance have been taking place during morning circle, and music, chorus and Hawaiian language classes. If your child has expressed interest, please feel free to join us and support our students who have worked hard to represent Island School!
 
Information for the students performing:
Call time: 11:00am for ʻukulele (students are encouraged to bring their own)
11:20am for anyone showing up to perform and sing
Where: Kukui Grove Mall, Center Stage
Look for Mrs. Sun, Mr. Nause or Kumu Kanānā
 
Performance Order:
1.     Hoʻolauna (Introduction)
2.     Opening Oli: Oli Aloha no Kauaʻi 
3.     Mele (Song): Alu Like
4.     Haʻiʻōlelo & Closing Oli: Kū Haʻaheo 

Attire:
· Black or Blue Island School Shirt 
· Denim or Black shorts or pants (No holes or large rips please)
