Island School La Lei Competition Wednesday May 1, 2024

“May Day is Lei Day in Hawaii!”  May 1st is a celebration of lei here in Hawai‘i, a day that we make and wear fresh flower lei to honor the tradition of wearing lei in the islands. The Island School ‘Ohana Association invites all students in grades Pre-K through 12, faculty, and staff to participate in Island School's first annual lei making contest that will be held on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024.  The lei contest will feature several different categories and will be an opportunity for our students to learn about lei making and to showcase their talent.  The event will take place next to Frear with lei displayed for viewing, judging, and awarding of prizes.  We are excited to see the creative and artistic creations of the entries!  More detailed information and entry forms will be sent out next week.  Please email the Island School ‘Ohana Association at ISOA@ischool.org with any questions.
