COVID-19 Athletics Update: 
We are following guidance of KIF and HHSAA to determine if and when athletics should resume. We will make the necessary announcements when that time comes.  Please contact Athletic Director, Jerry Jona, for any questions at jerry@ischool.org.

Island School has a variety of varsity Winter sports and a Junior Varsity Girls Basketball program that compete against the other schools within the Kauai Interscholastic Federation, Kauaʻi High, Kapaʻa High, and Waimea High. The typical length of the Winter season runs from late October through early February.

  • Soccer

    Island School offers both Varsity Girls and Boys Soccer Teams, which compete against other schools with in the Kauaʻi Interscholastic Federation. The soccer season typically runs from November through February, with a state tournament to follow. Teams practice after school daily.
  • Swimming

    Varsity Swimming is offered for high school girls and boys. Practices are held daily at the YMCA swimming pool, just a mile away from campus, with students needing membership for pool access.
  • Varsity Boys Basketball

    We offer Basketball for boys grades 9-12. The team competes against other schools within the Kauai Interscholastic Federation, and also has the opportunity to travel off island for games.
  • Paddling

    Island School, after a 10 year break from the sport, once again has a competitive paddling team. Island School boasts boys, girls, and mixed paddling teams that all compete within the Kauaʻi Interscholastic Federation against other schools. Teams compete during the winter, and have weekly races on the Wailua River.
