In Mr. Corbo’s 6th Grade Science class students created their own calorimeters to measure the amount of calories produced by Cheetos. They recorded their findings and then compared their measurements to the actual calories supplied by the nutrition facts found on a bag of Cheetos. After doing some calculations and finding the average deviation from the actual amount of calories that they calculated, students will attempt to calibrate their calorimeters and see how accurate they can be based on their precision. Students graphed their data and will create formal lab reports to analyze their results.
Mr. King came in to walk Ms. Roxanne's seventh grade 1st period through a technology project. They are starting the process of uploading their autobiographies from last quarter into a digital portfolio. It's really cool! The portfolio will end up housing a variety of student work, individualized to each student across the board.
