Today we explored the “in-between” as we ventured out to places we have never been before. We walked by our familiar pond right by the entrance of the main campus. As inquiry teachers we asked the children, “ Where did this water come from?” and “Where does it go?” After we received various answers we set out on our wondering walk. We walked around the pond, past the Frear Center, and to beyond. We found a running stream of water so we started to follow that. At the end of our investigation we went as far the trail would let us go. The children all agreed we need to venture further (of course they want to hike to up the mountain) as we discussed the water cycle along the way and how everything flows to the ocean. It was a fun and informative day as we took risks along the way to a discover a new place.
