Students in third grade Art just finished an unusual art project called, "The Word Game." They really enjoyed this creative game that Miss Penny learned from art teacher Mary Nakamura of One Thousand Hands Studio. Students picked a piece of paper from each of two different "mystery jars." Then they made a story with the resulting combination of words or phrases. They drew a picture from their story using only Sharpie (no erasing!) and painted it with watercolors.
