Island School students recognized by Mayor Kawakami
On May 5, 2025, Island School students Violet '25 and Ruby '26 ran a successful voter registration drive, and are being recognized, along with other Kauaʻi students, by Mayor Kawakami on Tuesday, August 12 at 11am.

Violet and Ruby registered 77 Island School students to vote. With the voter registration drives at Waimea and Kapaʻa High Schools, over 300 Kauaʻi students were registered to vote during the 3 Spring 2025 Student Led Voter Registration Drives.
On Tuesday, August 12 at 11 am, The Mayor will read and present certificates to the 6 student leaders, and 3 school staff who supported the students’ efforts.
