    ELEMENTARY TEACHER AIDE

    Island School (ischool.org) seeks an Elementary Teacher Aide with a commitment to support our elementary faculty in a high-inspiring independent school setting to begin in late July for the 2024-2025 school year.  

    Island School is a WASC/HAIS accredited PK-12 independent day school with a total enrollment of just over 500 students. The school is located on the rural island of Kaua`i, the northwestern most inhabited island in the Hawaiian archipelago, which, due to its stunning natural beauty, is known as the "Garden Island."     The successful candidate should have the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, and a desire to be part of an independent school community.   

    It is expected the successful candidate would:
    • Assist and support the classroom teacher during class time
    • Monitor students during morning and lunch breaks
    • Accompany students to enrichment classes
    • Occasionally serve as the back-up for our after-school care (Do Drop Inn) from 3:00-5:15
    • Perform additional duties as needed

    In addition, a candidate should possess the following personal and professional qualifications:
    • Experience working with elementary age students
    • Ability to manage students and appropriately correct behavior
    • Ability to follow guidance and instruction of teacher
    • Commitment to and alignment with the School's mission and vision  
    • Associate’s Degree,  preferred

    Island School (ischool.org) seeks a First Grade Teacher with a commitment to private education in a college preparatory environment. The position is full time and begins in late July for the 2024-2025 academic year. Pay range for a full-time faculty member role for 24-25 depending on years of experience and education: $51,500-$72,500.

Familiarity with Singapore Math or Amplify Science is preferable: however,if not trained  in these curricula the candidate must be able to attend professional development sessions.

The full-time position for the 2024-25 academic year includes teaching four-five classes (usually 2 or 3 courses) depending on level assigned. Pay range for a full-time faculty member role for 24-25 depending on years of experience and education: $51,500-$72,500.

    Island School seeks a part-time elementary librarian with a commitment to independent school education in a college preparatory environment. The 50% part-time position for the 24-25 school year includes fostering a love of reading, teaching age-appropriate literacy lessons in conjunction with grade-level teachers, and managing the elementary library resources. Pay range based on the 50% full-time equivalency for a faculty member role for 24-25 depending on years of experience and education: $25,750-$36,250, and qualifies for full medical and dental benefits.
