Learning Voyage - Lau Lau with 10th Grade

This week was Learning Voyage week for our high school students!
The 10th Grade Learning Voyage Week celebrated the Hawaiian proverbs I ka wā ma mua, ka wā ma hope (“The future is in the past”) and Ma ka hana ka ʻike (“Knowledge is gained through experience”), exploring the core themes of Mālama (caring for self, others, and the environment) and Lōkahi (teamwork and collaboration).

This immersive journey blends cultural, educational, and social experiences to deepen students' connection to their community and heritage. Through hands-on learning in Hawaiian history, food systems, and environmental stewardship, students will gain a deeper appreciation for the past while fostering meaningful relationships.

As part of this Learning Voyage, students made lau lau, and ended their week with a class pā‘ina, where traditional food, music, and bonding activities celebrated the spirit of learning and unity.
