Guest Educator in Science

Eric Tong from ʻIolani School visited Laura Lee's science class every day this week. Our ninth grade students participated in a PCR lab and built valuable science skills during their time with him. Students collected a papaya leaf sample to determine whether it is GMO or not.

This is Mr. Tong's second year working with Island Schools students, through a program called Aina Informatics. Aina Informatics has also allowed Island School teachers to to to ʻIolani professional development opportunities in the summer.
