Step into Pat Gegen’s classroom or join him on a field trip, and you’ll see why our Voyagers light up around him. Pat (aka Mr. G) teaches in both middle and high school, serves as 8th grade Dean, Model UN advisor, and Middle School Activities Coordinator. He has been instrumental in launching the Hoʻokupu program, Ed-ventures, and the 8th grade interdisciplinary trip to Hawai‘i Island. For the past eight years, Pat has inspired Island School students through academics, leadership, and experiences that extend far beyond our campus.
What you might not know is that Pat is also an Annual Voyager Fund donor. Even after pouring his energy into our students every day, he chooses to give financially too. Why? Because he sees the direct impact.
In his own words, “I give because I've seen the difference it makes. The Voyager Fund helps every student, every day.”
The Annual Voyager Fund helps purchase classroom supplies and maker studio tools, fund teacher training, provide financial aid, support athletics, and off-set the extras—like technology and travel—that ensure every child can fully participate in all that Island School has to offer. From field trips to Model UN competitions, Pat knows these experiences beyond a traditional classroom lesson matter.
When teachers lead by example, it sends a clear message: the Voyager Fund matters. It strengthens Island School and sustains the student experience year after year.
We invite you to follow Pat’s lead. Join him and so many others in supporting the Annual Voyager Fund this year. Together, we can ensure every student thrives.
