Remembering Lynne MacDonald

Island School is deeply saddened to share the passing of Lynne MacDonald, a beloved member of our school ‘ohana.  Lynne was a tireless supporter of Island School, generously giving her time and energy in countless ways—volunteering in the front office, crafting banners for celebrations, helping to organize many aspects of our Athletic Department, and so much more. 

Lynne’s connection to Island School ran deep. She was the proud mother of Cindy Wortmann (former teacher) and Lulu Elkins (former Student Activities Coordinator), both of whom dedicated years of service to our community. Her legacy also lives on through her grandchildren—Brennan (Class of 2011), Kellan (Class of 2014), and Mattea (Class of 2016)—all Island School graduates. Her son-in-law, Dr. Eric Wortmann, served for many years as our cross country and track & field coach.

In honor of Lynne’s memory and enduring spirit, the family invites donations to the Voyager Fund in lieu of flowers.
