Community work day at Alakoko Fishpond

On Saturday, October 18, 2025, Mālama Hulēʻia will host another huge community workday event, Pōhaku Ka Pāpale (To Set the Capstone) at Alakoko fishpond, continuing their multi-year effort to restore the Hulēʻia watershed and stabilize the fishpond’s kuapā (rock wall).
 
This event follows the landmark 2023 workday E Kū Ana Ka Paia (The Wall Will Stand).

🕖 Time: 7:00 am – 3:00 pm (includes shuttle time)
🚐 Parking & Shuttle: Meet at Kauaʻi Community College parking lot (no parking at the fishpond site)
📍 Location: Alakoko Fishpond, Līhuʻe, Kauaʻi

All participants will enjoy educational activities, live music, and a complimentary lunch. Please bring: reusable water bottle, hat, sunscreen, gloves, covered shoes, and clothing suitable for work in wet and muddy conditions.
