Our huakaʻi to Hanchett Ranch was a wonderful day of discovery and connection to the ʻāina. The keiki engaged in a variety of hands-on experiences that deepened their understanding of the natural world and their place within it.
They learned about horsemanship, gaining an appreciation for the care, respect, and responsibility involved in working with horses. In the stream, the keiki explored aquatic life by catching and observing tadpoles in different stages of growth, sparking curiosity about life cycles and change.
The adventure continued with trailer rides across the ranch, offering a new perspective of the land, and concluded with a creative activity where each child crafted their own nature stick using found materials—an expression of their connection to the environment.
Mahalo to Hanchett Ranch for providing such a meaningful and memorable learning experience for our keiki.
