Last Friday, our entire Lower School student body, from Pre-Kindergarten through Fifth Grade, participated in STEAM Day for the second year in a row. STEAM Day is a celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math, where elementary school students rotate from station to station exploring different activities led by Island School staff and faculty. Stations this year included making paper airplanes and learning about aerodynamics, exploring different methods of watercolor painting, making dye with plant pigments, learning about the Hawaiian Rainforest, exploring ramps and waterways at the Nā Pua Keiki campus, leaning about exercise and heart rate with Ms. Emily, and nature rubbing art.
