Robotics Success Last Weekend

Last weekend, Island School’s Voyagers Robotics team delivered an outstanding performance at the FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics Competition on Oʻahu, a highly competitive two-day State Championship and the final event of the season. The five-member team earned second place overall, finishing just behind Punahou School’s FTC team, who are currently ranked number one globally on the FIRST Tech Challenge scoreboard among more than 5,000 teams worldwide.

Sean '27, Phoenix '27, and Dylan '27 traveled to Oʻahu and proudly represented Island School at the championship. Teammates Spencer and Kai played vital roles behind the scenes, and their valuable contributions to the team’s success are also gratefully acknowledged.

In recognition of their exceptional performance, the Voyagers received a prestigious invitation to the FIRST Robotics Premier Event this summer and were selected to represent Hawaiʻi at the Governor’s Cup in Washington, D.C., to be held at DAR Constitution Hall this February.
