An Impact That Reaches Far Beyond the Gala

When you attend the Island School Gala, you positively impact every single member of our community—often in ways you may not even realize. A portion of every Gala ticket goes directly toward supporting Island School’s financial aid program—a program that makes our school accessible to more than 50% of our students. But the impact of financial aid reaches far beyond access alone.

 

Because of our robust financial aid program, Island School is able to cultivate a more diverse student body, strengthening our entire community and allowing us to offer unique opportunities for every student. From a thriving athletics program that now includes surfing and wrestling, to a wide range of electives and extracurricular offerings—such as Hawaiian language and studies, video production, and the makers’ studio—financial aid helps make these experiences possible.

 

It also deepens our connection to the greater island community, creating meaningful, real-world learning experiences through field trips and community service partnerships—from caring for Alekoko Fishpond, Nuʻalolo Kai, and the loʻi at Waipā, to traveling to Washington, DC for Robotics Nationals, participating in our annual Learning Voyage tradition, and so much more.

 

At Island School, one of our greatest strengths is the care and commitment our community shows in abundance. Our school is what it is because we work together and strive for the very best.
