Last Saturday, Island School Middle and High School students presented projects at the Regional Science Fair.
Nathaniel '30, Maya '30, and Mianna '30 represented the Middle School across a variety of projects, while Tanner '29, Cora '29, and Callum '27 represented the High School. For the first time, Callum collaborated with another student, Byron, from Kauaʻi High School.
Nathaniel, Cora, and Tanner were selected to advance to the Hawaii State Science and Engineering Fair in April on Oahu. Callum, Maya, and Mianna were named alternates and may also have the opportunity to attend, pending grant funding from Kauaʻi Student Research.
In addition, Nathaniel was selected to compete for the Thermo Fisher Junior Innovative Award. This marks the third time Island School has received this honor.
Congratulations to all of our students on their outstanding achievements!
Mahalo to Kauaʻi Student Research and Dan Matthews for their invaluable insight and support, for financially supporting our students at the State competitions, and for generously lending equipment for the students’ projects.
