Happy Halloween!

Aloha Island School ʻOhana,

Halloween is absolutely on top of my list in terms of celebrations. I love how creative people get with dressing up, I love the laughter around appreciating each other’s creativity, I love how many little and big ones alike enjoy taking on a slightly different persona for the day. I want to share a big thank you to all the adults, teachers, staff, and parents-guardians, who helped make today such a fun one on our campus.

I wish everyone a fun and safe evening ahead. Thank you in advance for caring not only for your own family, but also for neighbors and friends who may join you in being out and about. Thank you for encouraging your children and/or modeling for them how to include a new member of the community or widen their friendship group on a night like tonight.  As a relatively new family to Kauaʻi, I know first hand how meaningful that outreach can feel from more established friend.

Thank you for wishing good luck to our 5 state cross country state qualifiers: Zoe Dorow Mochary (9th), Khyler Greenleaf (10th), Eva-Rose Rapp (10th), Callum Raine (11th), and Cora Rosenthal (9th). They are sacrificing their Halloween to get a good night sleep in Oʻahu before running the big State race tomorrow morning. Let’s go Voyagers!

And finally, I hope you’ve been catching a glimpse of our Open House banners. We need your help to spread the word! Please encourage families with children who you know would be great additions to Island School to come to an Open House, learn about us, and apply to join our ‘Ohana. One of the best ways to get to know us is to meet our team and spend time with us on campus. You can play a big role in shaping our community by encouraging great people to join us, which directly impacts your own child’s experience in the classroom, on the playing field, on the performance stage. Please spread the word and encourage people you know in our community to sign up for our Open House and learn more about all that Island School has to offer.

As always, thank you for choosing to partner with us during these critical important years of a young person’s life.

Together,
Nancy Nagramada P’29
