We received a letter inviting us to participate in an exhibit at the Bishop Museum in O'ahu. The exhibit centers on engaging younger students into excitement about the museum. To do this, they brought back a strategy that they have done in the past, a LEGO build! This time, Middle Schools across the state were offered to participate in building a LEGO version of their school logo/mascot to be displayed in the Bishop Museum.
We said YES to this invitation, and put together the Voyager "mascot" image, shown above. Our idea is to have all Middle School students contribute to the build. The entire Middle School will be completing this task in their advisory classes from 1-2 pm on Thursday 12/18 after their Enrichments final. Each advisory class will work together to complete one part of the LEGO build in order for all Middle Schoolers to participate in its construction. Our completed mosaic will be shipped to the Bishop Museum on O‘ahu by January 20, 2026.
We are looking forward to engaging with students in the project and can’t wait to see the result! It's such a great opportunity for Island School to be a part of a Bishop Museum Exhibit alongside approximately 50 middle schools from across the state!
