Students in 4th and 5th grade are studying how to stay safe on their bikes. Representatives from the non-profit Kauaʻi Path and Safe Routes to Schools have been on campus conducting classes and demonstrations. The program is a comprehensive curriculum that teaches traffic savviness through classroom activities and on-the-bike skills practice. Students are learning skills such as helmet use, hand signals, traffic signs, maneuvering through intersections and out of driveways.
