Sue Macklin has been a teacher at Island School since August 2006. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Xavier University and a Masters in Early Childhood Education from Concordia University. Sue started her career in early childhood education as a facilitator of Early Learning Playgroups at 3 locations on Kauai. She now oversees Island School's first Pre-Kindergarten Learning Center located on Kauai Community College Campus. The center serves as a learning lab for KCC's Early Childhood Education students.
Ms. Sue's daughters are all graduates of Island School - Alexandra '14, Jordan '16, and Laura '16.
In Sue's free time at school she enjoys coaching the elementary FLL, Science Olympiad, and Global Natural History Day teams. Otherwise she enjoys traveling, reading, enjoys many outdoor activities, and being a mother to three wonderful daughters. She is ZIN (Zumba Instructor Network) member and frequents Studio Barre Soul to keep herself energized!
