The Physical Education Department would like to thank you for encouraging our parents to participate in this year's 2019 Mayor’s County Track Meet. It was a warm day and everyone had to endure long waiting periods before each event, but our 'ohana kept up a great attitude. There was a strong turnout this year for both the Elementary and Middle School. It was a good opportunity for our students to compete against other schools, to experience what it is like to run in a track meet, and most importantly to get some fun physical activity. Furthermore, the students and families did an excellent job with sportsmanship and being Island School ambassadors. The sea of gold shirts was prevalent throughout Vidhina Stadium and the Voyager ‘ohana spirit was definitely evident.
Individual results will be posted in the Voyager Voice as soon as they become available.
Special thanks go to our teachers and parent volunteers: Maria Graves, Brandon Wong, Marissa Evslin, Robin Soong-Putnam, Kaina Costa, Lisa Alvarez, Coach Eric Wortmann, Caitlin Ka’aihue and Becky Snowden who helped to make many transitions run smoothly during the event. Also many thanks to those behind the scenes who helped set up tents, with the clean up, and for making sure that our students and families were comfortable during the event. We look forward towards next year’s track meet! Go Voyagers!
