4th Graders To Travel To Cambodia

On Saturday, April 27th, 4th graders Phoenix Ma and ‘I`iwi Silva participated in a regional competition on O‘ahu sponsored by LAB (Learning Across Borders). This is the 4th year Island School has participated in this program. LAB chooses a theme each year and promotes four thematic principles:  environmental science, project based learning, student leadership, and cross-cultural navigation. This year’s theme is Water: The Source of Life.  Phoenix and ‘I’iwi were selected to participate in the Global LAB competition this July, which will be held in Siem Reap, Cambodia. This will be a life changing experience for our young students. Mahalo to their adviser, Sue Macklin, for making this opportunity possible.
