Middle Schoolers had a blast at their retreat which was at Salt Pond beach. They did group activities that are focused on teamwork and creating/strengthening relationships. Island School holds these retreats each year so that students will have bonding opportunities that will set the new year off with lasting friendships.
High Schoolers were divided up by grade level. The freshman had a sleepover at Island School's campus; the sophomores and juniors enjoyed a beach day and camp out at Kamalani Playground where animal sandcastle making contests were held and a beach clean-up resulted in 8 large trash bags of marine debris and plastic. The seniors enjoyed some time up in Kokee at Camp Hale Koa.
