Elementary Counselor News
Lunch Bunch is a time when small groups of students meet with our Counselor, Ms. Christine, in her counseling office to have lunch together. She provides teachers with a sign up sheet so students can sign up in advance to join her for lunch. She offers this 1-2 times a week and it has proved very popular indeed! So far this semester, she has been able to meet with around 40 different elementary students in grades 1-5, giving her an opportunity to get to know them better in an informal setting. After they have lunch, they do a range of activities which may include:
  • playing a board game
  • dancing
  • playing with lego
  • coloring
  • listening to calming music
She has been known to provide some treats as well!
Ms. Chrisine wants to make sure that she meets with any new students that come to the school, so she can find out how they are doing and help them settle in. Mahalo, Ms. Christine!

Everyone had such a great time for Halloween! A big shout out to Mr. Ben Nause for his enthusiasm as an emcee for the Elementary's recent Halloween gathering in the Wilcox Gym. Mahalo to Ualani Ke's Ohana and Oliver Templeman's Ohana for an excellent Halloween party in third grade. Mahalo to Keana Oliveira and Shantelle Manibog for assisting with third grade's Camp Naue as well as Alicia Navarro's Ohana for their generous donation of an afternoon snack.
