The Voyagers played the second game of their rescheduled matches against Waimea at Island School this past Saturday and almost secured their first victory of the season. The Voyagers actually held the lead at halftime against the Menehune to the surprise of many except our Voyagers. Inspired play and timely shots saw our boys put on their best game of the season. The Voyagers put up a valiant effort throughout the game but fell in the end. The boys are showing improvement every game and we anticipate that this team of young talent will be a force to be reckoned with in the near future. The boys start the second round this week. Be with them this Saturday at 7pm as they take on the Menehune of Waimea.
The boys blew out the Kauai Red Raiders at home this past Saturday 4 - 0. The boys played like champions shutting out the Red Raiders with its gate keeper holding down the fort (Kaimana, ‘21) and his teammates showing the Red Raiders that their last match was a fluke. Taking scoring honors for the boys were Josh, 20, AJ, ‘22, and Carlos, ‘22 with 2 goals. The boys are back on the field again in a Thursday match in Hanapepe at 4pm versus the Waimea Menehune. On Saturday they take on current points leader Kapa‘a at 12pm following the girls game.
The girls are getting ready to wrap up their season this week. First match this week is at the Hanapepe Stadium against Waimea at 4 pm on Wednesday the 22nd; then back to Island School for our senior game against Kapa‘a at 10am on Saturday the 25th - come out and watch our Seniors in their farewell game - Katie, Jackson, and Kalia.
