The Hawai‘i Youth Conservation Corps Summer Program, offers an intensive hands-on experience into the world of conservation. Kupu invites applicants on Kauaʻi, Molokaʻi, Oʻahu, Maui, and Hawaiʻi Island to take part in their June-July 2020 Summer program.

There are two ways in which to participate, either as a Team Member (Must be 17 years and older) or as a Team Leader (Must be 21 years and older). No prior environmental experience is necessary, instead the ideal applicant is someone with a positive attitude, that is interested in learning, curious about nature and has a desire to assist their community through hands-on service.

Successful members will be partnered with a team of 5-7 others, and serve alongside one another for the duration of the 7-weeks (8th of June- 28th of July). Locations of the service sites will change weekly, bringing with it new adventures, challenges and opportunities for personal growth.

Members will be exposed to a variety of ecosystems, natural resource management techniques and cultural practices. Participants can expect to gain valuable experiential education, to build close relationships with their peers and industry professionals, to further develop their own personal skills in the areas of leadership, organization, team work, and decision-making. Better preparing them for the future, no matter the industry or profession they decide to pursue.

This experience is a unique opportunity to grow, spending a summer outdoors within some of the most stunning natural locations that Hawai‘i has to offer and making a positive impact on that community and it’s environment.
