The map represents the ethnicity of Ms. Connie's second grade class. The yellow post it notes show where each child’s ancestors came from before coming to Hawaii. Island School is such an amazing example of how diverse our population is with students from such diverse cultures and customs.
Creativity was a strong theme this week for our elementary school students - the crazy hair and the awesome microphones they made out of driftwood!
Elementary School Counselor, Ms. Christine, visited 1st, 3rd, and 4th grade classes this week to talk about the theme of the week, which is Kindness. Friday, November 13 is World Kindness Day and 3rd Grade students worked on a Kindness Tree and displayed it at Morning Circle today.
First grade students learned about how one kind act leads to another, and enjoyed coloring in kindness posters.
