We had one winner and twelve honorable mention awards in this year's Scholastic Art Awards!
Congratulations to junior Hi'ilani V. for winning a Silver Key Award for her scratchboard drawing! Her artwork will be part of the 58th Hawaii State Regional Scholastic Art Awards exhibit at the Hawaii State Art Museum (HiSAM) which opens in Honolulu on March 12th and runs through April 16th, 2021. The annual Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the nation's most prestigious recognition for creative students in grades 7-12 and the largest source of scholarships for young artists and writers in the nation. This year there will be a virtual awards ceremony on March 12th honoring the over 200 students in grades 7 through 12 who will be featured in the exhibit.
Congratulations to these nine students who won a total of 12 honorable mention awards! The honorable mention award winners will not be in the exhibit, but will be recognized on the website of the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts website sfca.hawaii.gov.
