Recycling and Composting in High School

Last week, Keola Aki and Daezsa Tomas-Tamagawa from the County Recycling Office visited Mr. Gegen's high school sustainability class to present on residential recycling and composting. This was a good introduction into some of the sustainable activities that the class does on campus, including collecting recyclables from campus and sorting them for redemption, and collecting kitchen food scraps to incorporate them into their compost program.

On Thursday, Mr. Gegen's Sustainability class met with Mrs. Wortmann's third grade class to plant new Sweet Potato starts and harvest their crop from last year.
