3rd Grade's Kind Caring Community

Mr. Haugh's 3rd grade class has been learning about government and communities. The class created their own make believe community, Kind Caring Community (KCC), and decided what is needed for a community to thrive. They made a map of Kind Caring Community, which included a hospital, a school, parks, farms, and shops. Students created their own shops and currency, and had the first grade class come in to shop! Each first grader was given $15 in KCC currency and allowed to buy whatever they wanted at any booth. Booths included a shave ice stand, cookies and lemonade, keychains, origami boats, and carnival style games! Students in both 3rd and 1st grade learned about money, making change, giving tips to employees, and supporting their community.
