Special Shout Out: High School Theater Crew!

Putting on three full scale productions in one school year is no small task.  There are a great many things that happen backstage leading up to the show and during the run of the show that the audience never sees.  And it's when the audience doesn't notice us that we know we did a job well done!

As the theatre arts program continues to grow it is an honor and a privilege to extend professional learning opportunities to our high school students.  They gave their time and energy to ensure the success of each production.  They have also provided mentorship to our younger student actors in Winnie the Pooh and Robin Hood.  The backstage crew's job for each production were stage managing, helping set painting, prop creation, helping with hair and makeup for our actors, running the lights, sound, and camera during the shows, running scene changes, and helping actors backstage.  Their participation in the theatre department productions is a true demonstration of fulfilling our Island School mission:  "Educating the mind, inspiring the heart, preparing Kauai's youth to lead lives of significance."
