A peek into 2nd Grade life!

Second grade has been busy learning about winter holidays around the world. First, students learned about Diwali with a visit to the Hindu Temple in Wailua. They then studied Kwanza and made candles using the three colors that represent the holiday. Afterwards, they moved on to Hanukkah. Ms. Hannah Lerman (Piper's mom) was our special guest and shared how her family celebrates Hanukkah. She shared a Hanukkah children's story and taught students how to play Dreidell. Students will make a Star of David sun catcher. Next week, they will learn about Christmas!
