Island School at Science Fair Regionals

Brooklyn Braun and Tanner Miller represented Middle School at Regionals competing against St. Theresa and Kapa'a Middle School.  Brooklyn's project on Hydro Turbines won the Middle School Kauai Regionals Award, Air Force Award, and 3rd place in the Thermofisher Junior Innovation Award. Tanner Miller's project on "Wind Power Blades"  won the Middle School Kauai Regional Award, Air Force Award, PMRF Navy/OCS Award, and 1st place in the Thermofisher Junior Innovation Award.
 
Lily Glick and Ashley Chun represented the High School division and competed against 20 other projects from Kauai High School. Lily Glick's project on "Which Calcium Salts works best for Coagulation" won the Biomedical Sciences Award and the PMRF Navy/OCS Award.  Ashley Chun's project on "Using Organic Mats to Clean up Oil Spills" won the Engineering Award, NASA Earth Sciences Award, PMRF Navy/OCS Award, third place in the ISEF (International, science and engineering fair) award, and third place overall at Regionals. 
 
Brooklyn, Tanner and Ashley will be representing Island School and Kauai at the State Competition in April. Please congratulate these students for these amazing accomplishments.
