Learning Voyage Adventures in Middle School

A new tradition at Island School are Learning Voyages! Students in Middle and High School spend one week traveling to different parts of the island and experience Place Based Learning, which is the process of using our local environment, community, and community members to teach concepts across the curriculum. This week, our middle school students have gone kayaking up the Huleʻia River in Nawiliwili, taken a tour of Lydgate Farms to learn about cacao, enjoyed the rodeo on the west side, hiked Sleeping Giant, and so much more! Thank you to our generous staff and faculty who have chaperoned all field trips this week, allowing our students to fully immerse  themselves into these field trips.
