Senior Capstone Presentations - April 23

The day is almost here!  Tuesday, April 23, are the Graduating Class of 2024's Senior Capstone Presentations at Island School.

Senior Capstone Presentations are a major event for the high school. There are no regular classes, and all of the high school students and teachers attend the presentations. The day is an exciting culmination of our year-long efforts of searching, questioning, researching/investigating, thinking and re-thinking, interviewing, writing, viewing, and self-evaluating. Some students' projects are purely research-based, others create objects of art or function. We hope that you will find that each of this year's seniors have prepared a project that expresses their personality and interests as they prepare to graduate. It's also a long-standing Island School tradition and a graduation requirement that each student produce a Senior Capstone Project and Presentation.

We have attached the presentation schedule for the day.  Under each. name you'll find links to the student's website and introduction video. Presentations will take place in Hala, Mokihana and all six rooms of our terrific new building, Pratt Hall.

On the schedule, you'll also notice that we have a TED-Ed room.  This year, the base for our presentation preparation curriculum was offered in partnership with TED Talks in Education.  We are recording sessions in Pratt Hall 1 for potential submission to the TED-Ed Student Talks program.  For this reason, attendance space may be limited and exits and entrances limited to only before and after presentations in this room.

Due to space limitations, Senior Parents, Island School Board members and current high school students are invited to attend Senior Capstone presentations.
