National History Day Hawaii State Fair

This past weekend, some 7th, 8th, and 9th graders traveled to Oʻahu to participate in the National History Day Hawaii State Fair! First, on Friday, students had the opportunity to tour 'Iolani Palace and learn about Hawai'i's rich history. Then, on Saturday, we traveled to Windward Community College for the State Fair. Each student presented their project and participated in an interview about their exhibit, documentary, website, or paper, each of which highlighted different turning points in history. It was an honor to compete alongside such talented and knowledgeable students from across the state. We are so proud of our young historians and how well they represented Island School at this massive gathering!
