Fall sports is in go mode. Come out and support our Voyager athlete’s in Air Riflery, Cross Country,
and Girls Volleyball.
Air Riflery
We have a new Head Coach (Orlino Antolin). Coach Antolin takes over for Coach Sean Magoun who
coached the Voyagers AR team from 2004 and stepped down after last season due to time
constraints and work commitments. The young team is showing promise and did well last weekend.
The Voyagers travel to Kapaa this Saturday 9/23 to take on the Warriors in a 10am match. Good
luck.
Cross Country
After 2 weeks of competition the ISV girls team sit atop the points board. Last week the Lady
Voyagers went to the Kapaa course and took 6 of the top 15 spots with Freshman Ashlyn Worley
taking top honors. The 32 point score was enough for 1st place besting last year’s champions, Kauai
High School, by 11 points. The girls are led by senior team captain, McKenna Kerry, along with the
fabulous freshman led by Worley, Sadie Stiglmeier, Avani Keahiolalo, Kolohaiaheahe Kuhaulua and
Sydney Manibog.
The boys are led by team Captain Javin Hennessey who after 2 weeks of competition, is in a battle
for top runner in the KIF. After finishing in 1st in the KIF practice meet, Javin finished 2nd this past
weekend and will look to move back to the top at Waimea this weekend.
The Cross Country team travels to the westside of the island to the campus of Waimea High School
on Saturday 9/23. The boys take the course at 7:30am with the girls taking the course at
approximately 8:15am. Good luck.
Girls Volleyball
Always considered the underdogs, no more. When teams play ISV Volleyball now, they know they
will be in for a dog fight. And that’s what the games have been the first 3 matches of the young
season. Although the results have not gone our way in some of the matches, look for our Lady
Voyagers to make adjustments and get back to the top. Come support the team as they face the
tough Waimea Menehune at a home match tonight 9/22 at Wilcox Gym. The JV Voyagers take the
court at 5:30 with the Varsity taking the court 20 minutes after the completion of the JV game.
