Our Community

Aloha from the Island School Parent Association (ISPA)

The ISPA will act as a “gathering place.” Members of the ISPA will uphold traditional Hawaiian concepts of respect, and an understanding of the interconnectedness of the land, people, education, and community.

The association will operate with the underlying assumption that education is essential to our prosperity as a community, and adherence to these concepts will help ensure future generations produce a symbiotic relationship between educational excellence, community, and environmental stewardship.  The ISPA will act to further Island School’s Mission of educating the mind, inspiring the heart, and preparing Kauai’s youth to lead lives of significance.
The ISPA shall facilitate communication amongst parents, provide parent education, encourage and coordinate volunteerism, lend support in classrooms, and sponsor school-wide activities to benefit all Island School students.
The main communication platform used by the IPSA shall be the MyVoyager Parent Association Bulletin Board that all members can access through their individual MyVoyager accounts. Weekly updates for the Island School community are also posted in The Compass, periodic updates in The Navigator, email postings, and other school publications, and biannual postings of Voyager Magazine.

Please feel free to contact us at any time by emailing ispa@ischool.org.
